They think it will help to give drivers a chatbot or AI assistant to answer all their EV questions. Uber Technologies is planning to introduce an AI assistant to help drivers switch to electric vehicles.
This move is part of its efforts to lower emissions. The ride-hailing company has been advocating a shift to EVs for several years and has pledged $800 million to support driver partners’ transition to EVs by 2040.
This chatbot is set to launch early next year in the United States; however, it will expand to other locations later. The company will also expand those chatbots used to answer questions beyond EVs in early 2025.
In London, nearly 30% of all miles driven on Uber are now electric,” CEO Dara Khosrowshahi stated.
Although Uber is launching a mentorship program (to connect experienced EV drivers) with those looking to switch to electric vehicles, this effort shows the company’s commitment to sustainability. Additionally, it awards top merchants on its food delivery platform $50,000 (to help fund their own sustainability initiatives) and reach more customers
